Feels like I am starting to need a clutch in the slowbra so I was just curious what you guys thought. I was thinking of a centerforce or a spec but I'm open to any suggestions. I would like to go ahead and get something that will work with the twinscrew when it comes but I don't want something that is a pain to drive. Any thoughts?

I would go spec all the way.

Spec 3+ with Fidanza billet fly wheel and a liberty 26 spline input shaft!!

I hear good things about the spec stuff but I have also heard it is very chattery and can be a pain to drive. Have you guys noticed this? Longevity is more important but I just didn't want something that made the car a pain to drive. I guess I am wanting my cake and eat too LOL. Thanks for the advice.

Black_03cobra has a spec stage 3+ in his and it does fine. U definitly can't slip the clutch in his tho. If you try and slip the clutch in 1st, it will not go into 2nd until the rpm's r down

i ran the spec 3 in my car with no issue at all except that it was too much clutch. if you going for a lot of power later down the road, then i would look into a 26 spline input swap as well.

Yeah I think I am going to end up doing the input shaft upgrade also. I talked to ACT about a twin disc setup they have that looked pretty cool. It was pretty high though. Lethal Performance recomended the Centerforce DFX and most of the guys on here and SVTP said go Spec. I still have not made up my mind on which way I am going yet but thanks for all the advice guys.

You can get a Spec stage 3 if you're going to pulley your car instead of a 3+. You can ride the Stage 3 just a little bit. Plus it'll save you some money. Supports up to 695 ft./lbs.

Thanks man. I appreciate all the advice. I am still pondering on what I am going to get. I may just need to learn to live with the clutch being a little racy. The car will be getting pullied in the next few months. ( I already have the pulley ) I plan on taking it past that power level though and going with a twin screw eventually. It could be a while before that happens though so it may end up getting a ported blower for now. I just want to make sure whatever I do is something that will last and I can be pretty happy with drinving.

Can't go wrong with the Spec 3 then. If you plan on running it at the track a lot and it'll be 2-3 years before getting the twin screw, I'd go with the Stage 3. You can ride it once you get used to it and it's definitely streetable. I hated it when I first got it on my 99 Cobra, but I loved it after I broke it in. I also purchased a Spec aluminum flywheel but our cars already came with one.

Dont rule out a Mcleod! they have a really good line up of clutches that have really good manners and hold plenty of power. Centerforce,Zoom racing and ACT are all good brands also. I run a Mcleod twin disc workhorse clutch in my 06 and it drives like it has a stock clutch in it.
