God Is All Powerful
Read John 10:1 through 11:57
A child’s view of her daddy is innocent and endearing. He is stronger and wiser than anyone else. He can work miracles no other man can do. He can fix any crisis.
Even when we grow older and recognize our father’s flawed humanity, we still carry an instinctive image in our souls of what a true father and savior should be. The Lord perfectly fulfills that image.
“No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father” (John 10:18).
Incredibly, Jesus possessed something of which no one else on earth can boast: He had the power and authority to allow others to take His life—and to raise himself from the dead! Since our Savior is this powerful, we must not dread difficulties on our lives. No matter how tough the trial, or how dark the days, we can be assured that our Lord truly is mighty enough to care for us.
Challenge for Today: Turn to God when your heart cries for a strong, reliable father. He will never fail you.
