As for me, i like to use "the absorber". It's not made out of the same material as a chamois but works the same way. Not sure what it's made of, but works really well and takes no time to get it all dry!

Yeah I use one as well. Then I spray some nice Quick Wax on it and use a microfiber towel to rub it in. Then I use a dry microfiber to polish it out. Haven't had a chance to do that all summer though. I've washed it at the car wash, but that's about as much time that I had to do it. Maybe when school starts back I can take the time to give her some EXTRA attention lol.

check this out....i use a leaf blower. i have a high volume back pack style and it blows all the water out of the lug nut holes and everywhere else water sits until you move the car for the first time after dying it. You should try it! You'll get great looks from the neighbors....

I have a theory I have not tested yet but logically it should wield decent results. I am about to purchase a bunch of those Sham-Wow towels. I have been reading up on them and they apparently have no lint, and can absorb a small pond. Has anyone ever used them to dry their car? I'll update when i get my order in and the weather isn't so ****ty.

I use the Aborber, but always wanted to try the Sham-wow's. I'd like to try the leaf blower thing as well, sounds like a great idea.

Indeed, that's what I use, just make sure you use an electric one, get them at walmart for bout $30.00, great on engines and wheels, and door jams..

I have never tried this but my neighbor uses it on both of his trucks, car, and 4wheeler.
I use the old fashioned version of this, just hit a good straight stretch and run up to abou 130, its much funner to me.

A friend used the sham-wow, he said it was pretty much the same as the absorber. I'll just stick with my absorber, works great, no water spots.

I've tried just about all of these methods... Instead of a leaf blower I have a nozzle hooked up to my air compressor. I use this immediately after washing when it has a fresh coat of wax and when it's in between 50 and 70 degrees. Otherwise the water dries too fast and leaves water spots.
I've used the sham-wow and IMO they suck! One of the worst products I've ever used. Literally have to go over and over the car several times in order to get it dry. Stick with an original shammy if you like this method.
I personally prefer to dry immediately after washing with a california blade squigy. I do not recommend this if you have no wax and or haven't hit your car with a clay bar. After this I go over spots I couldn't get to with my shammy gettin in the grill, under the trunk, under the hood, along trim, and in the door jams...
My 2 cents lol

As the owner of a black car, I have an entire system worked out. First off, the problem with absorbers or chamois is that they sometimes still pick up small particles of dirt or various debris. When it does, and you hear that EEEKK!, you will know what has happened. And on a black car that just one more thing to worry about. I have a california jelly blade, which I was before use and a waffle style towel from Meguiars. Doesn't seem like much of a system but we haven't gotten to the part about washing, waxing, or clay baring yet...
