Messiah Will Return!
Read Acts 1:1 through 3:26
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).
The apostles wanted to know when Jesus would restore the kingdom to Israel. Jesus’ disciples heard Him utter His last words on earth to them: they were to be witnesses for Him to all humanity (verse 8), rather than worrying about the whens and whats of the last days.
But two angels gave this promise about Jesus’ return: He would come again exactly as He had left in His glorified physical body. The angels were referring to His glorious appearing at the end of the Great Tribulation. Jesus will come in the clouds and stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4) and everyone will see Him.
This lost world needs to see Christ in His people and hear them tell about the hope there is for those who trust in His shed blood. We are to be those people!
Thought for Today: As we anticipate Christ’s return, our job is to witness to others as we live for Him.
