Faith and Love
Read Galatians 4:1 through 6:18

Paul’s letter explains to the Galatians that the only thing of value is faith in Christ expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6). Rather than obedience to a list of rules, faith is trusting in Jesus Christ to cleanse you from all your sin and embrace you as a child of God. This faith naturally leads a believer to love and worship God.
When you believe God’s Word about the death and resurrection of Jesus and accept the gift of salvation He offers, the Holy Spirit moves into your heart, uniting you with Christ. The thing that matters most to God is your knowing His Son. When that happens faith will be visible through loving acts of kindness and service, which is how a person loves God in return. Faith also activates moral choices that line up with God’s Law even though believers are free from the demands of that Law.

Love is so important to faith that Jesus said the whole Law is summed up in one command:
“Love your neighbor as yourself” (Galatians 5:14).

Challenge for Today: Check yourself to see if God’s love is the inspiration for your thoughts, words, and actions.
