A God of Miracles
Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you—majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
Exodus 15:11
I had a sister named Debbie, and we had always been close. When word came that she had been in a terrible car accident, I was shocked, frightened, and prayed the only way I knew how at that point in my life: “Lord, if it be Thy will, please heal her.”
She lingered between life and death for weeks, had many surgeries and still the doctors had no hope. Finally, they sent her home to die.
I knew what the Bible said, but I knew nothing about divine healing. Miracles were foreign to my life until one incredible day in 1979. Some friends introduced me to a preacher named Norvel Hayes, who was holding a meeting. “Bring Debbie and God will touch her,” he told me. Not only did God heal my sister at that Indianapolis meeting—but my life changed forever.
Have you ever witnessed a miracle? It changed me the same moment she was healed. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
God still heals today as He did in the Bible. He is still a God of miracles.
