BBK Headers and X-Pipe

So, what do you all think about BBK Headers and X-pipe? I am thinking about going with these and the SLP loudmouths. So, give me some input on the BBK stuff, please!

I haven't had experience with their exhaust products but I haven't been impressed with some of their other products.

What were some of the problems? I was thinking about a AEM intake also, and SLP full exhause, long tube headers and x-pipe. Should I just go with SLP?

I personally haven't had experiance with their products but based off what I have heard, if you go with SLP's need to go with catted mid pipe. I have heard they are very loud and do not sound right with a o/r pipe. BUT,,that's just what I've heard.

Yeah, I was going to go with the catted X-pipe. I have heard the mufflers. And I love the sound. I am hoping to get over 300 rwhp by the time I do a full exhaust and throttle body, and intake and tune. We will see.

I've heard good things about bbk headers. the x pipe will be about the same no matter what brand you get. I have pypes headers and they fit perfect and cost less than bbk. And if you get headers make sure you go long tube, shorties aren't worth it. as for the intake, k&n or JLT can't be beat!

Thank you very much. All this scares the hell out of me. It costs a lot of money to do any of this. And if I am not happy, I will be out the money. So, I am trying to do as much research as possible. Did you get good gains from your pypes long tubes? And did you go with a Pypes catted X-pipe?

I'm happy with the long tubes, I haven't been driving it hard much lately, but the gain is pretty noticeable. I got my o/r x pipe(ebay, $120 shipped) before i got my headers and just had it modified($30 at any muffler shop) to fit with the headers. I'm running slp lm1's, dumped, with o/r x, so it's pretty **** loud. If you shop around on ebay, you'll save lots of money, or looked for used parts on different forums. try pm'ing 06mustanggt24v, he had an intake and o/r x for sale if you're interested i think he still has them.

I would not get SLP. I have heard horrible tells of the sounds with headers/SLP combo on a S197. I hear you get popping, crackling and droning. I would recommend magnaflow/stingers/bassani. I am about to order the headers myself if that tells you anything

100% agreed. I have ordered almost all of my upgrade parts off of eBay and I have not paid anything close to retail for any of them. I have only had my '08 gt since December '09 but I have done a massive amount of parts research since then and eBay pricing is almost impossible to beat on parts (new, open box or used).
