So I know some were wanting to see where I am on the car so I will start a progress tread. For a brief history, I have owned the car since 1993, and it had just been rebuild to a 306 with a supercharger on it when I bought it. It looked pretty much like it does in the first shots below, except, I had to do a lot of fiberglass work and replace the hood since it was damaged when I bought it. A retread from a semi blew off and hit it going down an interstate in St. Louis.

For Mods it has, as of taking the motor out. A 306, TFS High port heads, worked by Kauffman Performance, back when they raced fords. A Crane cam and race lifters. Intake is a real GT40 upper and lower, with a 65MM throttle body and 94-95 mass air meter.

It did have a Paxton Super Charger on it when I bought it, but it never had the correct injectors installed nor had been tuned. So I found it easier to just take it off and sell it to help fix the body work that needed to be done.
The car was said to run 11.79 in the quarter, with the charger, but I cannot verify that, and I only ran it without it a few times and the best I cold get with street tires is a 12.93 and no traction. It does have a single hoop roll bar though.

So since about 2002 the car has not seen much street time as it stayed in Missouri when I moved here. Never let you car sit for a long period of time, as all the gaskets will go bad, as mine did.
The only problems, besides oil leaks, since I brought it down here 2 years ago is that it was burning a bit of coolant and I couldn't figure out where until I torn it apart.

My plans are to rebuild it, hide wires and smooth engine bay and add a turbo, just for starters.

So here begins the transformation tread and finally to the picts.

First, here is the car before:

During Tear down:
It use to be all polished and nice it looked so sad like it was.

Found my leak with a coolant pressure tester. Leaked only under pressure, where the head meets the block and upper intake.

Also found where how it was burning it too. Leak in gasket between water jackets on the heads on 1 and 2.

Everything else looked good considering how long it had sat.

Here it what it should like somewhat like when I am finished. This belongs to someone I know from another forum. Mine will have polished stuff and powder coated items in a Deep gray offsetting the red.

Yeah, It has took longer than I wanted to get just to here. I hope to start on the engine bay on Sunday now, since I am again working on Saturday.

I do have a little more done than it looks like though. Such as the motor has a new bottom end, heads have been reworked, block painted with POR-15. Most of the supporting parts are new or getting powder coated, such as new water pump, balancer, intake ported, still waiting on my custom cam to be done. I have picts just haven't had the time to post them, heck I still have the video from the first drag day to finish

The only real expensive thing I have yet to buy is the turbo kit, but I know what I am getting, just saving a bit more money for it. That, an some time to actually work on the project.
