alright just bought a 88 fox. basic car with a built AOD tranny 2400 stall, 373 gears, a small cam, cobra upper and lower intakes, and a cai, and 24lb injectors. my questions are...
why is the car sluggish on the low end? picks up about 3k pretty hard
does any one know of a kit the connects the MAF sensor to the MAP. as of right now the MAF is connected straight to the computer.
and who is a good engine builder.. i have a 336 motor that is brand new but has sat around for about a year and i want it went through and made sure it is ok and if they warranty their work... also who installs engines and does a **** good job but is also good on their prices? possibly someone who does both.

oops forgot one... in the 336 motor i have low compression pistons and rings that were cut and placed for boost. i can not remember but i think the compression ratio is a 8.3-1 or a 9.3-1 compression. will i have to change the pistons and rings or is it ok to keep them?

Hello and welcome! I'am sorry I'am not much help on the technical side, but if you're looking for a performance shop you should check out MP2 Performance. They are a site sponsor and can probably help you with what ever you're trying to do.Hope that helps.

Thats just kinda one of those things with the 5.0 They really start to come alive at like 3 grand.. At least mine does the same thing, the MAF thats in the car, is it for 24lb injectors? because if its not.. you're basically shooting yourself in the foot having them, like the idiot who put them in my car before i owned it did.. I'd say upgrade to an MSD ignition to give yourself better throttle response, then you can transfer all that stuff over to your stroker when you put it in.. A sound investment!

i dont know if the maf is matched to the injectors..... it has a msd cap, wires, and a 6al but the 6al isnt hooked up. it needs a tune up... ill keep the cap but i have a billet distributor, 8mm wires. it also has a msd coil also.

The cam that you are running has more than likely moved the power range up into the higher RPM, when this happens, low end torque suffers. That's one reason why people install stall converters, that way when you are stalling it up, you can get it closer to that rpm range.
Are you planning on going boosted with the car? If so, then don't change out the piston's. If you aren't going forced induction with it, then I would consider doing something to up the compression some IF the compression is 8:3. 9:3 isn't so bad, it's a good safety area for running N/A or forced induction.
I have a few friends that would be more than happy to go threw that 336 for you, they do awesome work and have proof of it. One of them held the Street Radial record out at centerville for a while in his 438 small block ford that he built. Motor is still going to this day. I will get a hold of them and see how much they would charge, they are reasonable. They will also install the motor and everything for you and make sure it's right.
Shoot me a text sometime, or give me a call, and I will help you get everything set up to get your 336 in your car. My number is 479-970-1373, my name is Jake.

Does anyone know who installs vortech superchargers in the state and does a good job? Also does any one know if anyone can write a custom chip in Arkansas? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Garrett,
My buddies that I was telling you about that could install your motor and stuff can also install a Vortech on your car.
As for the Chip, Bolt On Performance is the only way to go. He will not let that car leave his shop till he is satisfied with it.
