So i'm workin on "project disgustang" see in the build thread.. And I came to realize that its time to get a new clutch.. What are you guys running, what would be a nice durable, streetable application for a street car pushing about 250 ponies to the rear wheels for now.. I was thinking a spec stage 1...

I had a center force dual friction clutch in my car and loved it. Extremely smooth engagement, soft clutch pedal. If I was going to put a clutch in something that I drove a lot, that didn't have ton's of motor work, it would be another Center force Dual Friction.

i've heard good things about the centerforce and spec. I put a fidanza 2.1 in my stang and it started slipping after 2k miles, with proper break in.

I can vouch for a Spec stage 3+...a friend of mine has it in his 2003 cobra with a solid rear axle and is launching at 6500rpm on slicks and that clutch doesnt slip a bit while it's cutting 1.52 60 ft's. He has had that clutch in there for proboly close to 15k miles and it still loves it.

Yeah, I need to get the ball rolllin' on this.. I was looking at zooms but they are pretty expensive, and un neccesary for right now.. I'm sure by the time i'm ready to upgrade my engine to the point of needing a ridiculous clutch the clutch i put in will be fried by then anyway

I have been running a zoom hp48-1 clutch in my 93 turbo and it has been a very good clutch. I havent had a single problem with it and it has good pedal pressure with smooth engagement.

Guess I should have responded to this earlier. I actually ordered a RAM thats good up to 450hp.. and it was one of the cheaper ones they had.. I'll let eveyrone know how she holds up!
