I Believe in Salvation from Sin by Faith

No Fear

Read Psalm 27:1–9

It’s easy to fall into fear when thinking about terrorists, wars, shootings, financial worries, health concerns. Focusing on such threats can overwhelm even a strong believer. But that’s the key to change: your focus. Do you focus on the problems of the world or on our faithful God?
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).

Though surrounded by evil men who wanted to kill him, David rested in the Lord. He knew God was more powerful than any earthly enemy or trouble. That’s why he could boldly state, “My heart will not fear” (Psalm 27:3).
God’s promises of safety and shelter still hold true in our modern age and are sufficient for each day. When we call on God, He hears. When we run to Him, He meets us with open arms. When we cling to Him, He comforts and strengthens us. God will never reject us or forsake us. As we learn to know Him more intimately, we grow in confidence in His desire and ability to help us.

Thought for Today: God removes the fear factor.
