I Believe in Salvation from Sin by Faith
Too Angry
Read Isaiah 12:1–6
We live in an angry age. Yelling, fighting, road rage, destruction of property, mistreatment of others, substance abuse, cutting, rebellion—anger takes many forms. It may even be suppressed, causing health problems, bitterness, or depression.
Although anger is a natural emotion, it is often mishandled and expressed inappropriately. When anger leads to sin, it needs to be dealt with. Even after the sin is confessed and forgiven, an underlying problem may remain. We can learn to identify angry feelings and process them properly so they do not lead to destructive behavior.
God gets angry with sin, but His anger does not last forever. He forgives and forgets, not holding our past against our future.
In that day you will say: “I will praise you, O Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me” (Isaiah 12:1).
We should follow God’s loving example. After anger is resolved, we can comfort those involved. Bringing healing to the situation turns it into an opportunity to praise the Lord.
Thought for Today: God is our salvation! He saves us from anger and from every sin it produces.
