Wow, I hate posting in this forum so much but I have another problem....I hate seeing my stang sick.

I recently got new wheels and tires. 18x9 saleens in front wrapped in kumho asx 245-45-18 and 18x10 saleens in back wrapped in kumho asx 275-40-18.

So, ever since I had these wheels and tires put on, I have had this crazy steering wheel shake between 40-70mph and a slight pull to the right. Neither of these things happened before the wheels and tires.

So, I assumed that the steering wheel shake was a problem with the balancing, and the slight pull to the right was a problem with the alignment. Obviously when the tires were mounted they were balanced, but I figured maybe they did it incorrectly. So I had the alignment and the balancing redone....It did not fix the problem. Alignment tech said that I would have to purchase some aligning tool? that was like 100-200 dollars in order to align it any further, but it was all within factory specs currently.

Any ideas before dropping tons of more money into this?

You shouldn't have to buy any tools for anyone to align anything. Your being taken for a ride. Also, there are 2 things that can cause a pull.
1. Alignment
2. Sticky brakes

Vibrations are typically caused by again, 2 things(at those speeds):
1. Wheel balance OR a defective tire
2. Brakes--more specifically, a warped rotor HOWEVER you would only notice it if your braking!

So, I suggest you put that front tire on the other side and see if it changes the symptoms. If not, I would suggest another alignment shop for sure!!!

The alignment Tech is referring to Caster/Camber plates.

I dont know if the 05+ are the same way as 79-04, but if so, then yes he is telling you the truth. From factor, you can only do very minimum with the alignment, with caster/camber plates, it gives you a ton of adjustment.

Sounds like you need to get the wheels and tires rebalanced. As for the pulling, check the tire air pressure 1st and if it is good get an aligment. If the new tires have a shorter sidewall they will have a stronger feel of the road.

So...I think I have it figured out. I had the car on jackstands last night to check under it for my other problems, and when I was spinning either of the front wheels, you could hear a sort of.....like a grinding noise once every full turn. Like a warped rotor or pads. I did not have time to take them off to see which it was. Do you think that would cause the wheel shaking? Even when I am not braking, because they are rubbing? And why would the warped rotor or pad only show up after I installed the new wheels and tires?

Sorry for so many questions guys, still learning ;)
