Fruit of Disobedience
"You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
Genesis 2:17-18
When sin entered the earth through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, it produced fruit...fruit that all mankind has had to reap since—the fruit of disobedience.
What is the fruit of disobedience? It is death, decay, ****ation and destruction.
Romans 6:23 tells us, “for wages of sin is death” and without Jesus this is all we can reap. But God in His love for us built a bridge that covered the gap created by sin between us and Himself. The bridge was born out of His love, built on His Word and fortified by the blood of Jesus—who is our salvation. This bridge gives us life now and eternally, and it is called the “gift of God” (Romans 6:23).
You can choose to live a life of disobedience, which will surely produce its fruit. Or you can choose to live a life of obedience, which will produce the fruit of the Spirit in you: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).
