I was seriously considering the C&L Performance Intake Manifold (11 to 14 more horsepower) despite its $800 price tag and considerable weight when FRPP was nice enough to fire out this little spec sheet:
Ford Racing Intake Manifold Specs:
--Fits 2005-2010 4.6-Liter 3-Valve Mustang engines.
--In testing 320cid engine with M-9926-3V throttle body:+40hp more than OE stock intake at 6800rpm, and when compared to OE manifold, M-9424-463V was within 5lbs/ft of torque throughout entire curve
--Works well with Ford Racing's hot rod camshafts, high performance CNC ported 3-Valve Cylinder Heads and Ford Racing throttle bodies
--Lightweight composite construction (same material as OE intake manifold), 13lbs vs. 30 lbs aftermarket aluminum intakes (aftermarket aluminum intakes retail for $799 -- ouch)
--High-flow runners and open plenum design, fits under factory Mustang hood.
--Tested to 5 bar pressure - great for use with forced induction!
--Includes Intake Manifold Gaskets
--Deletes CMCV plates
Introductory price: $499.95

There are some guys on s197forum that said it still isn't in stock. Hopefuly around may it will hit the shelves. A few guys got te prototype ones and had awesome results. Matt d on there is running 11.98 in the quater with stock bottmend, heads and cams with this intake and a 1.65 short time. Of course his car has been place on a diet, but that is still crazy from a little 281 c.i. Haha. I'll be ordering one for sure!!!

I am on my netbook at the moment so I don't have the link but there is a new FRPP power pack that is going to include the new FRPP intake manifold and several other FRPP parts (IIRC it includes their hot rod cam set, throttle body, CNC ported heads, the intake manifold and FRPP valve covers) which is going to retail around $4300 (but will surely show up online for a decent amount less). The good news - it has supposedly been dyno tested with 05-09 stangs and with the addition of a CAI and long tube headers, they are consistently getting over 425HP and better than 380 ft lbs of torque after proper calibration - that ain't too bad for a NA 4.6 :) On the other hand, that is close to supercharger money and slightly shy of supercharger performance. However, it does get the 05-09 stangs to the performance levels of the 2011 stangs.
Same results could likely be had while cutting the price down if a few parts are substituted.
BBK throttle body $275
FRPP Hot Rod Cam set $725
FRPP Ported Heads (both sides) $1800
FRPP Intake Manifold $500
skip the pretty valve covers and the total is around $3300
Note: The FRPP Intake Manifolds are scheduled to ship on 5/15/10.

That's a good bit of money, but also a lot of power for a N/A car. So, who's gonna be the first to test this setup out?

I'm planning to go all n/a so this is the route I'm going, however you can make a little more power going with a set of comp cams like the 127300 or if you really have some cash go with the 127500, but those cams req springs, phasers and lockouts. I'm placing my order on my longtubes hopefully this week, and next might just be the intake cause it looks so cool. Haha. I'm really wanting to do a full engine build so I'm holding off on cams and heads til I figure out what my plans are

I'm glad you passed on the C&L. Its a heavy pile of junk i bought 1 for my 06 and that thing weighed almost 40#'s. It didnt clear the front portion of the cowl hood on my car and the port alignment with the heads was terrible! I have my FRPP intake on order as well and cant wait to get it! Cant wait to see how your car performs with it. FAST was in the process of making a 3v intake like their Chevy LS intakes that could be taken apart and ported but they ditched it and cut all testing last i heard.

Placed te order on this intake yesterday along with the throttle body, it drop ships on the 15th. Can't wait. Was going to get the top end kit with cams, minus the heads, but I'm going to go with the comp 127300s. So next paycheck will be cams or longtubes. Not sure which yet. I need both. Haha

Just recieved my email stating the intake will be shipped the night of the 14th and I should see it around the 19th. I placed a hold on the tb since there is soon to be a release of a new one that is in works from another company. Aj@apmedspeedlab hooked me up with a great price shipped on the intake. Ill be posting pics as soon as it arrives!!!
