Anyone got a tuner for the 4.6? I just added an upper plenum, TB and CAI and I'd like to see if anyone who could tune me or if anyone knows a guy who knows a guy ;).

Tuners are specific to the vehicle VIN so you'll have to buy one for your car. They come with canned tunes and are easy to upload.

American Muscle offers a variety of handheld tuners that come with preloaded tunes. These won't be excellent, but they'll get you started. If you want a dyno tune, Dynospeed Racing just outside of Memphis can get you tuned. Both companies are sponsors of this forum, so it's always good to help out those that take part in the community.

Grumpy James at Bolt On Performance is the man to go to if you are wanting a tune around the LR area. He is an SCT dealer and offers great deals on custom dyno tunes if you are looking to go that route. I BELIEVE that it is $350 for a tuner, then $300 for the dyno tune. Grumpy wont dissapoint you. He will keep tuning it until you are satisfied. We took a friends 2001 Mustang Bullitt with a built 4.6 and Vortech supercharger to Grumpy to have it tuned and to say the least, we were VERY satisfied with the results. We went up there and the car dyno'd 418rwhp untuned, after Grumpy was done, we left with 476rwhp on pump gas!

Some tuners you can tune more than one car with (ie sniper)

^^^^really, i thought they were all vin specific, that would be nice to be able to tune multi cars with one tuner

With the sniper software, each car is set up on one "Bullet". You can purchase multiple bullets to tune other cars.

i like the sniper. I havent messed to much with the individual spark and timing adjustments on mine though.
I have data logged on it though.

yep you can tune all you want with sniper, but its not a hand held tuner, so thats the difference. I have sniper software and will tune the car for you for $275(that is if the price of bullets havent changed) but I have used the sniper on my Mustang when it was fuel injected and on my 4X4 and was very satisfied with both of them.
