So, anyone that read my post on Thursday (http://www.thestanggangar.com/showthread.php?t=1371&page=5) knows that I was really nervous a/b how this was going to turn out. I was worried that I'd committed to a wheel/tire pkg that looked better in my head than in reality.
For those who haven't read any of my posts b4, I kinda like to do things different.
Here's where I started:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c387/beatty_preston/The%20Stang%20Gang%20Pics/Street%20Machine%20Nationals/IMG_0528.jpg
then it looked like this:

It looked good like this, but it wasn't the "original" statement that I wanted to make. The week I posted that pic on SN95forums.com I had 2 guys say "hey our stangs could be twins except for..."
Not what I was going for.

Doubt I'm going to have that problem now.

I am REDICULOUSLY happy with my results. I'd been afraid that the tires would stick out too far from the wheel wells, so I bought a set of export flares. Here's the mock-up, they'll need paint, but I can't decide which way I want to go -gloss black like the wheels or satin black like the mirrors/cowl panel.
(pay no attention to the missing lug nut -aftermath of a long fight w/ locking lugs!)

Every time I see this thing change I think it just can't quite get much better, and yet you continue to prove me wrong! Looks great, very unique, and shows that you can have a good looking car that's not the typical (i.e. the popular wheel choices like Saleens or Cobra R's). The flares will take some getting use to. Am I looking wrong, or is it higher in the pic with the flares mocked up than in the pics with the wheels only? Those rear tires look meaty!! Now, it's about time for more go and less show!

Thanks man! Like Preston hinted at, though she's all show and no go. Stone stock 5.0. It has 4.10s and a shift kit on the auto, but mostly it's been suspension changes... I'm thinking a/b getting plates that say "NO BITE" or "ALLBARK". Maybe "TUTHLSS"!

Nah, not going blue. They aren't going to look like they belong anyway, so I'm not even going to try to make them blend in. "If you make a mistake make it look like you did it on purpose" is kinda my motto. As for the centercaps, I kinda like the look w/o... dunno that I can explain why. It kinda goes w/ the nonconformist statement of the unfilled holes and cheapy wheels. There are so many things "wrong" w/ this car that covering the ugly/rusty axle ends doesn't really make the list!

Talk to Stumbaugh -he's their current owner.

Thanx Preston! Even though i know you'd never do it on a car in your "garage", I knew you'd think it was cool.

I think the flares will look right at home on my Frankenstein, once I decide on a finish. The magic of these wheels is this: they're like a trucker hat or camo pants, nothing matches them so anything goes!
Those rear tires look meaty!! Now, it's about time for more go and less show!
Yeah, I think I need a supercharger sticking out of the hood to go w/ all this swagger.

Says it kinda loud too, doesn't it? Hopefully no one will challenge me on it -I'll lose!
