Well I was over at my parents earlier this week and was changing my oil. I was trying to beat the rain so I was working on it while the engine was still hot. We didn't have a wrench to get the filter off and it was too hot for me to use my hands. He handed me this wire and I laughed but IT WORKS! It's just wire with a knot and you just slip it over it at the top and pull down,,,,it came off so easy! Anyways,,,just in case you guys find yourself in the similar position,,grab some wire it works!

+1, that method has worked well for me! Never seen the wire trick, but seems like it'd get the job done, I'll have to remember that.

Yep I always do the same.

That's a pretty neat little trick tho.
