Dome Light Override???

My wife has a 2010 stang with the ambient lights. She wants to know Can you override the dome light when the door opens so it doesn't out shine her blue light??? I know you could take the bulbs out, but I'd still like to be able to use them if needed. Any help???

Problem solved!!!! Just bought blue light bulbs and just installed them. Got to say it's pretty cool. A lot better looking than the cheap yellow light bulb that comes stock. A great cheap upgrade. 2 dollars at auto zone.
