wanting to go with an aftermarket H pipe. just wondering how much diff. i should expect from on to the other, HP wise. o/r would be cheaper for sure but im in the air force so i never know if i'll be some where i'll need cats...... so what would yall do? also how much of a sound diff?

EDIT, o yea this is for a 04 mach 1

The sound difference is pretty big, depending on your catback of course. If you have slp's with cats, then it may still be louder than flowmasters without cats. If you never know where you'll be, you could get a midpipe that has cats that can be removed and include a straight pipe to go in their place.

Personally I would go with the off road pipe. It just sounds so much better but the possibility of having to move does complicate the matter a bit.

If you were to install an O/R H pipe on a vehicle and dyno it, then put on an H pipe with high flow cats and dyno it, there will not be a difference. The high flow cats actually do a good job on moving air threw them. The only reason I don't run one is because of the price.
