Depends on your mods from what I've heard. I started to get a tuner, but after posting on multiple Mustang boards the majority (almost all) of the people said the gains wouldn't be noticeable. They said if I was planning on more mods such as longtubes then the tuner would be worth it.

The tuner by itself is a ok mod....but when you start adding other mods they will be more responsive.

im a tech at a tyota dealership and a guy needed an allignment and a u-joint installed so since he's a buddys brother I did it for free. That was about 2 months ago and today he called and said he had my pay, so I got a brand new programmer for free so if it works on my car any change to the positive is ok with me. If it does not work it will be forsale

Heck of a deal for you. As I was told, it may not show any improvements right away, but it will set you up for future mods.

let me know how that programmer works out for you, how easy it is to use and gains and all. I'm researching programmers for my car to buy around christmas break and i think i'm set on buying an sct x3. are you planning on tungin it yourself or having it dyno tuned?

I plan on doing it myself. Joey5.4 is a good buddy of mine and he has lots of experience with programmers so I figure I'll get him to help me. I will for sure let u know how it helps I can get a before and after time on a G-tech and post them both

I put an X-3 on mine and i love it. I dont care what people say, you will see gains, i went from 11.40's to 11.20's just with the tuner. X-3 is the only tuner i will ever buy.

That kind of time change is a big difference. I looked on sct web site and it claims 18rwhp, guess we will have to see

Like Stan said I've had alot of experinece with tuning, I havent used an x3 yet but Im anxious to check it out when Stan gets its it, but I am hands down a firm believer in Sniper! I used it on my car and as far as feel I dont know what kind of differnce it made because I added that, cold air, nirous and a bunch of stuff all at once, but I used it on my 05 4x4 and it made it come to life big time. its the only tuner I have used that made a differnce with just a tune alone. I used Diablo on both my lightnings I had and they were ok, and fairly simple to use, but the Sniper Special Forces is by far the easiest I've ever used.

I put a diablo on my car first and i couldnt tell a single gain, The 05+ cars react very well to a cold air kit and tuner but the 99-04's dont react as well. I didnt like the diablo, download time was to long and it just didnt help my car out, but this SCT helped it out alot.

+1

I had a tuner on my 99GT, actually a couple, and didn't feel much difference. At WOT I could tell but it didn't feel like much. On a fairly stock N/A motor you won't feel much difference. On my 08 though it made a huge difference. Having said that, a lot of it depends on how it's programmed, not necessarily the tuner itself, and for the deal you got I would say it was well worth it.

That seems like a good deal you got. The sct is what I have on my car and i have not had any complaints yet. you can adjust more parameters with the sct than you can with the diablo. As far as the difference you will see... it will make a difference and like mentioned before, it isn't that much without supporting mods. don't look for the gains on a bone stock 2V motor that the guys are getting from a bone stock 3V motor. The 3V's just respond so much better to mods and tuners than the 2V's do. I definately recomend using it, but you will not get a full respect for it until you start adding mods to the car itself.
