Keep an eye on the 'Stang at ~2:24. It looks like the Mustang taps its brakes. I'm wondering if it was intentional, to make it appear like a closer race. Still, it's a great compliment to the Mustang in general to be compared so favorably with the M3.

Cool vid. I'm not surprised the 2011 GT outperforms (and out-lasts). BMW's just don't live up to expectations. My Aunt bought one the same time I bought my 1997 Mustang GT. Her BMW was always in the shop. My '97 stang, only for regular maintance (fluid change, detail, etc.). To date, that pampered '97 GT (now owned my little sis') still drives like the day it was born. Loved that beautiful rio red stang, good times. Ford is #1 in quality and now taking names at the track. =:)

One of my buddies I go to school with drives an ~'02 BMW M3 E46 and thinks it's the best thing that's ever happened to the automotive world. Sure, it'll scoot, but it's in the shop more often than not, and the interior is nothing special at all. I'd take a 'Stang over any Bimmer, any day.
