i pulled my driveshaft out to fix the leak from the output shaft and was looking in my haynes manual and it said to mark the driveshaft for dynamic balance before removal. now i didnt mark it and i put it back it and the car sounds normal and ive already taken it up to around 120 or so and no noise so im guessing its fine. just wondering if anyone knows.

there should be a yellow or orange mark on the driveshaft and on the rear where it mounts. those are the factory marks for the line up of the DS.

i went on moddedmustangs forum and they said that i should be fine. i havent noticed any noises or anything but when i go back to check bolts i might change it cause it doesnt take but like 5 mins to pull it out then put it back in.

They say you should mark it,or line it back up the way it came out,but really does it matter,it's not balanced on the car, they are balanced before they are installed. It's the same if you were to buy an aluminum d/s,you really have nothing to go by to install it,but just to put it in.

no issues at all. i have had mine out so manyu times, i dont have the luck to accidentally install it back in the same everytime. i havent ever marked mine, i have replaced the u joints on it without putting it back together the same either.

If you don't have any vibrations at 120 then you'll have no problems. I was chasing a vibration issue in my 99, you would know it by now if it was an issue.

lol yea. i did however find a aluminum one on ebay right now for 96 bucks and 25 mins left. looks almost brand new but, no money right now.

has anyone noticed a big difference with the aluminum ds?

You will not see a large difference between the factory DS and an aluminum DS. Been there, done that.

It looks good though out of the box. :)

I would go back and figure out which way it needed to be. Vibrations piss me off.
