Just thought I would drop a line and say hello to everyone... I just swapped my last build (Turbo Honda Del Sol) for my newest project... 1968 Mustang coupe with a 351w and C6 transmission... The car is mostly done with the exception of interior, paint and a few exterior trim pieces... The motor is built and has quite a few expensive pieces on it... Since I just picked this car up Sunday I know very little about it... As I learn what all was done to the car and the specifics of the engine modifications I will post them up along with more pics of the car as it is now and as it progresses...

I look forward to this build and to meeting several of the members here and swapping parts/stories and the typical B.S. that goes along with everything... LOL

Cheers!

Yes this is Phillip Webb's mustang... Well, My mustang now but you get the idea... I plan on finishing the build with my sons help and anyone that wants to pitch in... LOL My son helped me with the wrenching on the Del Sol Turbo project and now its time to move up to the V8's and teach him about the classics... Nothing like a nice powerful normally aspirated engine full of torque and raw horsepower to keep his interest in cars... We've been the "Fast and Furious" route so I figure some old school muscle should be the next step... Then after this build it will be time to get off into the drift world for a while... But not anytime soon...

Welcome, great to have you aboard! I've thought about this before, maybe it'd be something you guys would be interested in. I know I've seen other clubs have a local wrenching day. Just get together and work on various projects guys have going on. I don't have a lot of the technical knowledge with cars, but would have no problem lending a hand if you guys would like to do this sometime.

LOL... I rarely turn down a helping hand and am ALWAYS willing to lend one... Its been a while since i have wrenched on anything Non-fuel injected so its a welcomed reunion for me... My son on the other hand is getting ALOT of exposure to the world of automobiles and seems to be eating it up!

Makes a father proud seeing his son carying on the tradition... Just like me and my father did when i was much younger...

Man that's awesome! How old is your son? I have a son that is 10 and he is eating it up as well. I told him we are going to start building an engine for my Mustang and he can't stop talking about it. Makes me feel good...chip off the old block lol...

Yeah its pretty cool watching them learn and letting them figure some things out on their own... My son is 14 and a pretty awesome kid... I kinda raised him with the old school method of discipline when he was younger... You know, actually spanking him when he needed it and when he was grounded for a week it was a whole week not a day or two. And, I always explained why he was in trouble and what the consequences of his actions would be if he decides to continue to repeat the offense... Never beat him and always told him I love him before and after the punishment...

Anyway, sorry for patting myself on the back there and forgetting this is a car forum!... LOL

To all those peeps that helped Phillip with this car before I got ahold of it I must say thanks for doing a good job. Also, if your interested in helping a bit further it would be appreciated... I know a guy named Russell that was helping him before but I dont know how to get in touch with him so if anyone knows who I am talking about please PM me if you dont mind.

Im kinda curious about the rack and pinion system installed on the car and not quite sure its done the way it should be... Any steering or suspension guru's that would know about this please get in touch...

Interior guys, specifically upholstery peeps, I need help!! the Dash needs covered and I need 2 front seats since there currently are none. I have never installed a headliner on these cars either but I have watched a youtube video on how to do it... LOL, you really can find just about anything on youtube...

As far as bodywork and paint go, I was thinking of heading over to Ron's Bodyshop here in Benton to see if I could rent a booth for a day or two so I can repaint the car... I know Phillip was going for the two tone color scheme but I'm thinking more along the lines of Black Ice Metallic with Bright Silver racing stripes... Anyone else got any Ideas?

I know Russell, he is a freind of mine and I do some work for him at his shop sometimes. The steering on that car does need some work, the rack and pinion is out of a Dodge Omni. I did some work on it to get the steering to where it works decent. I know Phillip cut and weld the Left (driver) outer tie rod end and it really needs the correct one put on. When I started on it the steering would only turn 1/4 turn to the left and about 3 turns to the right. I'll pm you with Russells number.
