One thing,why not 4.10's?
He probably made a better choice with the 3.73's. After I put the 4.10's in my car I wish I had went with 3.73's at the time. with a stock size tire and a 5spd, 4.10 is to low for a 2v car. mine would run out of breath before the 1/4.

Weird,i had 3.73's first,and lasted one summer,then the following i went with 4.10's,and never looked back.
In my opinion i think that 3.73's is really not a big jump from the factory 3.27's in N/A form. :?
4.10's for us 4.6 guys are comparable to the 5.0L guys that run 3.73's.
Here is what was stated in a chart like way in an old mustang 'zine...
5.0L to 4.6L
3.55 = 3.73
3.73 = 4.10
4.10 = 4.30
When i had 3.55's in my ol' 5.0L i wished i went to 3.73's,and the 3.55's in my 5.0L felt more torquier then my 4.6 did with 3.73's!?!?
The only way i would go back to a 3.73,is if i was installing a blower due to the torque off the line reasons lol .... 8-)

they do have a great pull out of the hole, but mine would just run out of breath at 1000ft same for another guy that has a 2000 GT with 4.10's down this way. Now, when I changed my cams out the 4.10's worked out pretty good because I could wind the car up more. but with stock cams I would have had to shift to 5th gear to run 1/4 and and with the bigger cams it was warpped up TIGHT in the 1/4.

The tire size out back too will determine what your crossing the traps at.
But really,if your drag that much,then a tire for the track is in order. 8-)
I still feel that for the average guy that is a little of everything for the bang for the buck,4.10's all the way.
Cams two definetly have an up with rpm and gears,as i have expirienced with my cammed GT,which i feel that there is room for 4.30's with these stage II cams from VT.An old friend of mine that use to have a stock '03 GT with minor bolt ons like,4.10's,welded in flows,drop in K&N,and a sct tune ran 13.3's at 101/102 on E.T streets,can't remember the tire size (been many years know)except it was on a 15" rim,crossing the traps in fourth with ease.
The other thing too is that the gearing of the 3650 in the mid '01 to present GT is different then the t 45's,so we up one on the reving out in the rpm issue. ;)

yea, i didnt notice in your sig at first that you have an 03, so yea that is a big difference. and tire so as well, I was running a stock size 245/45 17 which is about a 25.6" tall I beleive. Once I get the 5.4 in the car I am gonna run 275/60 15 drag radials so the 4.10 wont be an issue any more with me.

I love my 4.10's...with the 3.55's I would cross the 1/4 at the top of third.

I went 3.73 cause at the time I was doing alot of highway driving from russellville to fayetville and didn't want to completly kill my gas mileage, but now that I have had them in for a few weeks, I am regretting buying them, I wish I had went 4.10 and I am running a 275/40/17 out back and with the 3.73 they feel good but I think that the car would do alot better with 4.10's, so possibly some brand new 3.73's for sale soon
