A guy here in town gave me a set of Steeda pulleys. I have heard on some older models that you have to put silicone on the crankshaft so they wont leak oil. Do any of you guys know of anything special I would have to do putting pulleys on an 01 GT? Any tips would be appreciated.

I did dab some silicone on mine.
Make sure that the pulleys are for your build date in '01.
Reason i say that is because Steeda sales their pulleys for '96 to mid '01,and mid '01 to '04.Ford changed water pumps, and pulleys in mid '01.
I will try to find my instruction sheet tomorow for you,and scan.If you will still need it that is. 8-)

When I got my 99 it had FRPP underdrive pulleys on it and it leaked from the seal. You could see the spray all on the timing cover where the oil leaked out and would fling off due to rotation. You could tell they were cheap pulleys. I changed to the ASP pullies and had no issues after that. I thought the ASP and the Steeda pullies were the same, but it's been a long time since I researched it though.

Thanks fellas. I did research and do know that I have the right pulleys as far as the water pump issue. I would gladly welcome the info sheet 1low. I might just go with some silicone just to be safe tho. By the way, 1low, what kind of suspension set-up do you have on your car? Uncle sam was very good to me this year(as was the wife) and I am going to get to spend a little money on my car. I am thinking of springs/caster plates. I want it to be low enough to look good with factory wheels but be able to upgrade later. I am not sure if 2" is too much or just enuf.
