I installed a Pypes O/R H-pipe and MGW shifter this weekend. The shifter is awesome. No more slop and by far the shortest shifter I've had, plus no more missing 3rd. The h-pipe sounds great, even with the stock axle backs. I can hammer the throttle and it will roar but then I can let off and it will sound close to stock. I have to do a little adjusting to the driver side as that side is rubbing a brace by the axle but otherwise had a good weekend of add ons well worth the money. Anyway, had to share with someone...thanks for listening!

Unfortunately, I don't have a way to get a sound clip right now. I found an exhaust leak at the crossover and broke the clamp by over tightening. Sucks too as I really wasn't hearing sound from the leak but I could feel exhaust coming out of the gap. I'll eventually get it welded up probably but for now I'll get another clamp tomorrow. As far as pictures go here are a couple of the H-pipe. I didn't get any of the shifter but all I can say is it is awesome and no noticeable extra NVH. Definitely worth the extra for the MGW. I had one on my T56 in my 99 as well.

Just wondering, have you ever had a steeda tri-ax? Thats what I have but I've never felt an MGW, I've heard the pro 5.0 shifter was a little tighter then the steeda, and was leaning towards that. If you've used both compare for me.

I had a Pro 5.0 in my T45 and then the MGW in my T56 but never used the tri-ax. I liked both shifters though. The cool thing about the MGW is the adjustability of it. Plus, IMO the Pro 5.0's handle is too short. I ended up putting a tri-ax handle on it and it was great. I don't think you can go wrong with either. For 05 and up cars I think the MGW is the way to go.
I don't know if that answers your question or not but if I had to choose again for my 99 I would still go with the MGW.

I got a replacement clamp today but it's still leaking. Mainly only notice it at startup and then it goes away. I don't know if the pipe expands once hot and the leak stops or what. Does anyone know of a better clamp than the u-bolt clamp to use on a slip joint like this? Sweet2kstang, do you know a good exhaust shop in the area? I eventually want to get it welded up and I won't have to worry about this, but for now if anyone knows of a better clamp let me know. Thanks.

Tell me about it. At first I didn't think it was that bad but then I drove it to work yesterday and it drove me crazy the whole ride. I found a sleeve clamp online that is actually made for slip joints like this. It is off set on one half to squeeze on the gap as well. I may order one of those and see how it works. As far as the smell goes what don't you like? The guy I bought it from said the same thing but so far I haven't smelled anything different, just more of an exhaust smell, like the old muscle cars. Am I not realizing or smelling something different yet?

What do you guys think of this clamp?

It looks like it would work better than the u-bolt clamp and would seal up tightly against both diameter pipes to get rid of the leak at the slip joint.
