I had a 89 hatch with a 306, forged internals, gt40 heads that were potted, 11:0 compression, 588 solid roller cam, 1 3/4 inch long tube headers, full msd ignition with pro billet distributer, victor jr intake, 825 demon carb. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it had a stock aod tranyy with no stall and stock 2.73 gears. So with that big cam it would push itself threw stoplights. And yes, this car was my daily driver. I drove it back and forth to college and to work. From a dead stop it wouldn't bark a tire, but once it hit about 3500rpm it would start blowing them off. The car pulled crazy hard on top end.

I hope to get another fox soon. i hardly see them out these days. if my next one is already a 5.0L then i will just mostly restore it with some custom touches, but if i get a 4/6cyl and do a v8 conversion then it will prob. get a big motor and just be a track mostly car.

Nope I don't have the fox anymore. I traded it straight across for a white 96 cobra convertible with black fr500s deep dished in the back

Those FR500's look a lot better then I thought they would on a foxbody. What size, width, etc are those. I have been wanting to replace my wheels with FR500's but did not know if they would fit correctly.

There an 18x9 on the front and a 18x10 on the back. Used a SN-95 front spindle, steeda bump steer kit, MM cc plates, and Baer brakes. On the rear wasn't a huge problem, other then removal of the quad shocks, which I wasn't planning on using anyways. Oh yeah, I think I'm going to have to roll the fender a bit more as well.

Is that with your stock rear axle? I know SVO's have a wider axle then all of the other foxbodies. It makes wheel fitting at little more pita.

Yeah it's a stock rear width, just has the ends chopped with the small 9" bearings. Basically so I could use the caliper brackets for the Baer Brakes.

I'm not that axle savvy, so what does that mean? My axle is leaking from just about everywhere so I'll be looking for a replacement soon. But I want one that will allow me to run a larger rear wheel then I currently have.

Go IRS (from a 99-04 cobra)! I dunno a/b the difference compared to an SVO rear, but they're 3/4 inch shorter (on each side, so 1.5" ttl) than other new edge axles. They make a major improvement (so I've read several places, and heard from cobra owners) in the ride and handling. they're a bit heavier as a whole system, but GREATLY reduce the unsprung weight. They'll move you closer to the magic 50/50 weight distribution in your lighter (than a v8) turbo4, too.
SVOs are among my favorite stangs ever, and this is what I've always wanted to do. Up front my dream SVO would have the SLA front suspension from Griggs Racing (major$$), an aero conversion + Saleen bumper cover (blasphemy, I know), 1.5" rear flares from Maier racing and a turbo4 built by Huber Performance.

Man I think I've got a few pics of it, but basically instead of having C-clips the hold the axles in, I've now got this end that the bearing presses on the axle and bolts to the housing.

I thought of doing that, but the cost of the swap is alot more then I would care to spend, unless someone know where I can find one cheap *hint hint*

EZ Street Champion!
2008 ORSCA EZ Street Champion Steve Jackson brings his 3000 horse Mustang to Courtney's PowerBlock shop! In his first year racing as a pro, Steve won the 2008 championship. In 2009 he moved up to Limited Street. The car is amazing: a '92 Mustang ll, all aluminum big block Ford with 600 plus cubic inch. It makes about 3,070 HP and pulls 2 G's off the line, 3 G's by the 60 foot mark. Steve is the 2009 Drag Radial World Record Holder: 4.535 @ 171.99 MPH at Atlanta Dragway, Commerce, GA. He's also the PTRA Top Street MPH World Record Holder MPH: 163.37.
You can see for yourself on The PowerBlock November 21st & 22nd.

Ummmmm, not to rain on the parade, but Ya'll know Steve Jackson's car has and broke the record with a Big Block Chevy, right?
It had the big Ford, he went to a big Chevy and went faster. I hate saying that.

What's funny about that car is that Kit Laung runs consistent 4.60s at Memphis motor speedway in his 402 cubic inch Windsor with an F2 procharger on a 325/50 drag radial. I know it's not the same class, just amusing that a 400 cubic inch small block runs with .07 of a 600+ cubic inch aluminum big block chevy.

I sold my 03 cobra a few weeks ago with the intentions of getting a truck. Then I started thinking I would wait a while for that to save some money. Then a friend decided to sell his 93 gt vert so I bought it. Its not pretty. Needs a new top. It was backed into by a guy towing a boat and now needs a new fender. It also needed a door but he had one for it so now its black with a green door and no drivers side fender. The good news is it only has 8000 miles on a rebuilt engine. At least I have something to play with and NO CAR NOTE.
