Alright guys, in your opinion what are the best longtube headers for the buck? i've been looking at lots of different brands, thinking maybe BBK or MAC, but i think i wanna get the headers and x-pipe same brand so there are no fitment issues. So i'd like to hear from some people with experience with installations and performance results.

Unfortunately, I never had headers on my 99 GT when I had it but was also looking in to them before selling it. After researching some I was leaning toward the Bassani mid-length headers. The HP gains were only slightly lower than full long tubes but better than short tubes but you could pull the transmission out without unbolting the headers. That was something important to me. Just my .02. Good luck with your search.

What mid pipe did you go with on your MAC lt's, cause i'd like to use the same brand headers and mid pipe so there is no problems with fittment. But if you did something different i'd like to hear. As for Bassani goes, i'm not looking forward to spening that much on an exhaust haha.

it has just been my experience, when i went with the cheaper pipe i wished i had gone with the more expensive one. it seemed like the sound i wanted someone else had and it was usually the expensive brand....

Well the exhaust sound I really loved came from the Snake Bite cobra on you tube, and he's running Kook's long tubes with catted x-pipe and a MAC catback. Not sure what sound difference comes from different brand headers, but Kooks custom headers are like 1200 alone for the headers and catted x combo.

Dang I love how that Mach 1 sounds. I just went to a Meeting last night here in college station and a few guys showed up with their mustangs. One guy had the Magnapacks on it with an offroad x and they sounded pretty good. And that Mustang Exhaust website was pretty cool aswell, wish I had found that earlier haha, kinda sucks tho they'll only let you listen to a limited amount of clips.
