If i put in a cobra clutch in my car, which has the 11 inch clutch. Should i still use a firewall adjuster? It will just be a stock clutch out of a cobra. Just tryin to see if another stock cable and the self adjuster would be fine.

Everywhere i have looked the cable are the same for cobra's and gt (mach's and all)

Reason being i found a oem cobra clutch kit with tob bearing also for 274 shipped, Or i can go with a fidanza 2.1 for 254 shipped but have to buy the ford oem bearing for like 40. And would also have to buy a cable adjuster and all that extra stuff.

Not sure on the clutch, but if you end up buying a TOB go with the Timken. I've heard nothing but great reviews on them. Most TOB's will start squeeling after time (I know mine does), but the Timken doesn't and it also seems to outlast the others.

Just buy my clutch cable, firewall adjuster, and quadrant for $50 and buy the fidanza. It is honestly better to have the adjusters because it's easier to adjust. Instead of having to crawl underneath the car to adjust you can just pop the hood and adjust it with the firewall adjuster...

what??? timken TOB's arent that great, get one from ford. why would you crawl underneath the car for adjustment? the stock cable is not adjustable, the quadrant is self adjusting. it is always recommended to get aftermarket set up, but it also depends on the clutch kit. you can run the cobra kit and be just fine, aftermarket quadrant and firewall adjuster still recommended.

Hhhmm, different strokes for different folks I guess. When my clutch goes, I'll have a Timken TOB. You're the first person I've heard of that wasn't satisfied with them. Everyone I've spoken with says they are much better than any others they've had (and no squel!!).

the squeal doesnt really bother me to much, its just that the other day the tob was doing the knocking noise that happens after the squeal gets worse. so thats why im gathering parts now. I know im going with the oem ford clutch cable, and prob get the adjuster and Quadrant from Showtime when it gets closer to time to do this, Still torn between the fidanza and the oem cobra clutch package. Cause the cobra clutch kit already has the ford oem tob in the kit and that will save me around 40 to 50 dollars over the fidanza. Im also do a new clutch fork and pivot stud for it to.

Ive always just used the ford oem tob. The reason i said about getting under the car is i didnt know if he would just buy an aftermarket cable and not buy the quadrant and adjuster or not.

i have went thru a few timken bearings. they are ok, i think the ford bearing is better.

I know the primary reason people I've spoke with say go with the Timken is the fact that it doesn't chirp near as bad. However, I've also read several other possible causes of the chirp that can be avoided and the OEM TOB works fine.

In my opinion stay away from the 11' clutch they are junk. I would stay with the 10.5 and get a good spec clutch and it will be better then an 11 inch setup. I have the 11 inch clutch in my and they suck
