View Full Version : 5.4 build is underway!

I finally got all my parts, and whole day to myself and started on my engine. It is officially a shortblock now, and byt this time tomorrow it should be a longblock, and MAYBE by sat it will be in a car! I doubt I have in by sat, but there is hope. If not, I go back to work sun & mon then off again tues and weds, so unless I run into a problem it will be in the car for sure by the middle of next week.
I got a bunch of pics on my phone, I will try to post them up tomorrow if I get a chance.

if anyone else feels ambitious enough to try this, I've got a 5.4 motor (minus intake) on the floor in my garage. It's got PI heads, but the rotating assembly is toast. My wife's tired of tripping over it, so it's gotta go! Any takers?

I got the long block finished tonight. Tomorrow, I am gonna put the engine in somtime tomorrow.

If your still looking for a set of heads. I have a set that has a bent valve and some pitting. They came off an 04 so you dont have to worry about the threads being a problem.

I had a set of 03 heads already that I had re worked.
