Since i'm the only Bullitt owner so far, thought I might kick it off haha. You guys know of alot of Bullitts over there in AR, I know of three or four jsut around here in the College Station area. Maybe one of these years I can make it to the Bullitt Nationals.

I just love Bullitts. You need to post lots of pics up!!!
Almost had one new.Made the deal in '01,and signed my life away, then that night afterwards at home i couldn't sleep, and didn't feel right, was bothered all day at work, came home, wife found out we were expecting our first child (she is now 6),and i went and cancelled the deal before pick up date, wasn't easy at either end,but it was for the best. The payments were to much at the time to go threw with it along with the baby.
But i did get a little something in the mail that only the Canadians got when purchasing a Bullitt in '01,i recieved the DVD box gift set with a thank you letter from Ford.So it is packed away in the closet with the bill/reciept,just no Bullitt though. LOL!

At first I tryed the tint overlay, firgured if I didn't like it it can be removed fairly easy, but that film was near impossible to work over the curvature of the tail lights. So I wound up using the spray paint, which was very easy and turned out smooth, plus depending on how many coats you put on, you can decide how dark i's gonna be.

What spray did you use,and any real close up shots of your tailights? :D

Some shots in the sun, they don't look as dark.

Looks really good.I was just curious on how glossy it was up close, ands it's just dark enough too!!
What is the name of the stuff?

It's called VHT Night Shades and I picked it up at my local O'Reilly's, comes in a purple and black rattle can. And i like i said before, with every coat you apply, it only gets darker. So i only did two coats with 50% overlap. No prep just be sure they are clean and free of oils and grease.

I've got a partial can of VHT someone can have if they want. I bought it to use on my stock fogs, sprayed them with one light coat and it didn't turn out well, then did an Envoy swap and have no need. I'd say probably 3/4 of a can (10 oz can). It's up for grabs, I can bring it to the track day. I like the new pics much better. I started to tint mine, just don't wanna give cops another reason to pull me over.

I'll take it.

I'll do my best to bring it. I also had some clear, not sure if any is left though. IDK, maybe there will be enough VHT for you to tint them. I tried spraying the fogs, but I guess some chemical was on there that didn't come off when cleaning and caused the VHT to crack.

That sucks. Do i need the clear too? I'm tinting all 3 brake lights and the side makers. Do u think it will be enough?

I'll have to look Friday evening when I go home (in college, live on campus). I just sprayed one light coat on both stock fog lights, so there should be a good bit left. How much you need really depends on how many coats you go with. I have a diagram showing the darkness. I'll try to find you and send you the link. I've been told to use several coats of spray on clear coat to help protect the VHT. I was going to resale the stuff, but after shipping couldn't make $5 off it so decided to give it a try. It's all in surface prep, just be sure to get it good and clean. I picked the clear up for ~$5 at a local auto parts store. I used in on something else, don't think I have enough left to mess with.

With 3/4 of a can left, that's more than enough for your car and probably another car. My buddy recommended me to clear my tail lights after tinting them so the paint finish wouldn't oxidize or anything. Has anyone had any problems with that so i can clear them before that happens :|

Never heard of it but do u really wanna risk it to save $5?

01LonestarBullitt

well i suppose anything would help to save in the long run, i wouldn't want to mess with oxidized tint when you could wet sand and buff a clear coat easier i'm sure.
