I know there are tons of post on cams on the net. I am new here so I was curious if you guys had some input on cam selection for my stock block 94 cobra. I was thinking TFS2. I read where the computer might not be able to handle without tune. thats fine. I was curious if I might have another option with some chop to it that may be better, same resonable pricing, and not have to change up the entire upper end. (not quite ready for that).

any help appreciated.

The E303 cam from Ford Racing is a good cam, and as far as I remember you shouldn't have to change any of the top end, and it should be able to work with your stock computer

Well ur car comes with a good intake. So I would stress much there. If it was me, I would go with a f-303 cam. They sound awsome and pull hard. I have a freind with one for sale if u r interested. The stock computers in those cars r tricky, some act different than others. But me and a buddy of mine can get it tuned pretty close for u if ur interested

In my opinion the motorsport cams are better than any TF cam. I had one and hated it. My number is 479-970-1373. My name is jake. U will like the f cam alot more than a TF cam

With the 94 computer you are going to encounter tuning issues if you go with very much camshaft at all. If its a stick car you can go back to a 87-93 computer. I would NOT install a cam with out changing springs. They are a highly important part of the valve train assembly and they are not that expensive. The FRPP cams are ok and a good deal for the price. The Trick Flow stuff is pretty decent. I don't know your setup or compression so I would not recomend a cam just caution you to the fact that a bigger cam is not a better cam especially when dealing with a pretty much stock motor.

No matter what cam u go with u definitly need to change valve springs. No reason to run 15 year old springs on a new cam. Also, the F cam will work fine on an other wise stock motor. Great pulling range that will work good for your intake. If I didn't go with an F cam, I would go with the lunati 500/510 cam. They pull crazy hard above 3500

Yeah, the only deal with the computer is that the 94-95 models were kind of a bastard child. They were between the OBDI to OBDII change. Mick is right though, the only problem changing to the old computer you would have is that the 94-95 computer controls the transmission in an automatic car, and it controls the cooling fan. I have heard that SCT can supposedly do some tuning to this computer now. So, you might look into that. Also, if your going to change the cam you will need springs, I know some comp cams part numbers for springs, retainers, and locks that will fit right in the stock head no machining or anything. There the parts I used on the motor I had in the car before.

Im not much for the trick flow cams either. And yes those 94-95 computers are a PIA. I have always had good luck in the past putting the E cams in the SN cars to avoid computer issues. The E cam is emissions legal and doesnt freak the computer out like a B or F cam would. SCT,Diablo and anderson PMS all have tuning capabilities for that computer that would would benefit you greatly with the way the car runs.
