I've got about $300 I can spend on mods for the Cobra. I've got several thoughts, just not sure what I want yet. Info on current mods is in my sig. It is my daily driver, so anything that would help driveability or appearance would be nice. I'm not gonna be racing the car much, so that's not a priority. I really thought about swapping to 18 inch chrome Saleen wheels, but it comes out to too much money (for now). I'm considering picking up some 17x10.5 03 Cobras for the rear (currently have 17x9's) with some 315 555's (about to have to buy tires anyway). Other considerations are:
HID's (can't see very well at night, really thinking this is what I'll get)
Subframes (not convinced I'll notice a difference in daily driving)
Tinted Taillights

Any input on these or other suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have gears yet mystic. They made a huge differance in a one my buddy's 96 cobra. The HIDs would be cool too.

Yep, I've got 3.73's and they are plenty. I'd like lower gears, but the current ones do great for daily driving.

Agreed with the sub frame connectors! 8-) Stiffens up the chassis nicely.
Should be the first mod to be done,or one of the first mods to be done no matter what! ;)

I don't have a problem with subframes, I'm just concerned that I won't be able to feel the difference in daily driving. I'm not gonna be pushing it into turns and such, so I am not sure. I know I hear that creaks/rattles will be reduced, but the money isn't worth that to me. My preference in HID's, but I know I've been trying to talk myself into subframes for a while. What exactly should I be looking for as far as improvements with subframes? Will they help ride quality at all? Thanks guys!

They will benefit in a number of ways.....
...stops the heavy twisting,in a performance way,and yes even in daily usage like going up steep driveways at an angle for example,or jacking the car up which in my opinion is the worse thing for the unibody.I know with my GT in having the s.f.c's,i can jack her near any of the tires, and the whole side will lift up straight, lifting both tires off the ground, and the door can be open, and shut without being misaligned by being jacked up.
...they will also help prevent the floor from sagging, which is another huge issue as the car ages.
Some guys rather spend money on visuals, and some rather spend money on preserving, and helping the stability of the car.
Since i bought my GT brand new,i did the chassis work first, then i did visuals a little bit at a time threw the years.

i didnt see your current mods, what kind of exhaust you got? i always like to make the car sound good, subframe conn., jlt rai, and pro 5.0 shifter, as my first few mods. no matter what you do you cant go wrong.

Hmm, looks like I forgot that I changed my sig. I've got flowmasters with a mac o/r h pipe, 3.73's, bilstiens with h&r sports, MGW shifter, larger mass air flow meter, underdrive pulleys, and a few other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

I'm waiting on a price quote for the paint, but I may have found my next mod. While not on the original list, I think it'll really finish setting my car off. I'm looking at a Kaenen S-281 spoiler. What do you guys think?

Haha, I actually considered a small shot (maybe 50) but then figured I'd have to get it tuned which would make it a good bit more expensive. IDK right now, I've got a million things running through my head, just gotta sort them out and see what happens. There's a few things I need, and a ton I want, the trouble is picking out which are which. Thanks guys!

After tons of consideration, I think I've made my decision. I want the spoiler, but other things take higher priority. The very first thing I'm gonna do is have my rear window worked on. The tint is starting to peel off, so it'll need striped and re-tinted. Also, there's a dot matrix at the top of the rear window, and it looks like crap. While the guy is tinting, I'm gonna have him fix that buy cutting off what it there and just painting it. I was gonna just buy a new glass, but the guy said it'd do the same thing in about a year, plus by him doing it this way I'm gonna save just over $100. I'm gonna hold on to the rest of the $300, I'm toying with the idea of HID's. They'd be nice at night, but after realigning my headlights the output isn't bad so I can see to drive at night again. I'll have about $150 left, so I'm really thinking about adding some spacers to the rear. I think it'd really make the car look a lot better to get the tires out of the fenderwell on the rear. Any comments/thoughts? Thanks guys!!!

Yeah, that spoiler is tight!

BTW, if you do get interested in the HID deal let me know. I bought some from ebay, I've saved the seller. There on my truck, they were easy to install. My truck has to separate light for the hi/low's. They were like $62.00 for each. The guy sells the hi/low single bulb set ups for I think around $120.00.

Thanks for the offer on HIDs, but there are better deals to be had. http://www.vvme.com has the dual beam kits for like $70, I know several that run them with great success. Also, where I'll be buying mine from is http://www.ddmtuning.com. They offer a 55 watt kit, although I don't think I'll need it. Their 35 watt dual beam kit is like $90 and includes a lifetime warranty. Can't beat that IMO. For the same money I can probably do the spoiler, but at the moment I think I'm gonna go with the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" slogan. The stock spoiler doesn't look bad. The rear window is looking pretty bad, so since it's messed up I figure I'll start by fixing it. Here's what I'm talking about on the window:

A lot of people either sand the dot matrix down, or use the clear elmer's glue when they apply the tint to fill in the gaps.

I've also seen people put a black decal to mimick the front brow over the dots on the back.

After talking to a local guy that does window/tint installations, I'm just gonna have it painted black. He'll remove the dot matrix, then mask the section off and paint it. From the outside it'll look just like the brow decal you mentioned. He said that's the only way to do it and have it stay.
