Yep, instead of writing up something, here are a couple threads from other boards.

I was lazy and just bought new ones (wanted smoked lights anyway), but either of those should make them look better.

yeah that's my plan as well, but I've got to do something with these until that day comes :)

What I ended up doing on my brother's headlights on his 93 gmc pickup was i wet sanded them with some 1200 grit sandpaper and you could go to 2000 if you'd like but i didn't. Then just follow that with your favorite buffing/polishing compound and clears most of it up. Should last ya until you decide to put the money for new head lights anyways.

really, what number sand paper were you using? Not unless it's just the different plastics they are all made of.

believe it or not, i used one of those compressor powered sanders, mostly used for removing paint off cars i guess,(really low grit i think 200?) then went up to a 400, then 1000, then you can either buff them, or clear coat them, (u can even use that 99 cent can). either way, makes them look brand new!

PlastiX on a powerball made mine look good before I went with smoked ones. But mine were not in to bad of shape either.

Woh woh on the sanding boys. Try some plastic polish FOR headlights first! Go down to your local O'Reillys and get some Plastix or some 2 stage plastic polish by 3M. Its worth a shot first! Then do some sanding but use a fine grit like 1000 or higher like the above posts say. Man that a whole lotta headache. I'm partial to the just replace them but all money trees are dead in this state...

I learned a little trick from going to shows, though its not a perminate fix you can use hydraulic fluid, automatic trans fluid, or brake fluid (all prettY much the same purpose) to clear the haze (not cracks and yellowing) off headlights, keep in mind if you have haze on the inside it will still look like crap.
