yeah, i try to keep the stang waxed real good to cut down on any minor scratches or swirls.. soft sponge FTW...I used to use a mitt, but it fell apart real easy and hardened to a rock when dried..

I'm not big on the mitt.I tried it on my '85 GT,and it swirled instantly!!I was so angry! :x Aspecially with it being black!!

thats a suck, I will prolly not use a mitt ever again and wouldn't suggest it either.

I just wash with a terry towel. Then I use a microfiber to wax it (or quick wax depending on when my last real wax was). Then polish it out with another clean microfiber. Does wonders :)

I use a wool mit but microfiber is awesome. Using a cloth is a bad idea because it doesnt capture dirt it just moves it resulting in swirls. To dry I use a water blade to get the main part and come back with a chamois but Im about to buy a microfiber drying towel because I hear awesome things about them.
I use the microfiber mit no complaints here it is awesome but does grab the dirt pretty easy

I personally love the micro fiber sponge for washing, they do tend to get dirty quick though but that just means there doing there job, rinse frequently to prevent swirls. And though I have never used a water blade (how do they work?) I know the best way to prevent water spots is to dry quickly, I just use a absorber towel (you can get them from any auto parts store or wal-mart). All water spots are is dirt and grime drying on your car from the water, remove the water - remove the spots.

I have both...I use the mot to wash the car and a sponge for the wheels. The key is use two buckets. One with soap and water....one with just water. Rinse the mitt with just the water then dunk it in the soap and wash again....that keeps you from rinsing you mitt in dirty water to clean your car with!!
