I've found a pretty sweet deal on a bumper guard for my 4runner. I'm kinda unsure on it though. In a way I love it, but in a way I don't. I'd really like some protection for the front end, and this should do the trick. I've read excellent reviews on the seller and the product, and the price is awesome. What do you guys think about this, should I get it or not? It's mainly gonna be for looks, but I like the fact that it also adds functionality. Here is a link to the ebay auction with pics of it installed on a 4runner (although mines black and a different trim, it'll give you an idea).

I was gonna try to keep the mods to a minimum, but I can already see that's gonna be tough. Thanks guys!

I vote no. Doesn't look too bad...maybe alittle overkill for something that's gonna stay pretty stock. Plus the seller loses points for using a photochopped picture.

I'd say something like this

Not over kill, little bit of protection and flows better with the truck.
Similar to something my friend has on his tundra.

Of course if you decide to go into hardcore 4x4 mode w/big lift, big tires, ect...that bar might look better. Certainly looks more functional.

I agree with you there. I like that chrome bull bar in the pic. That's really what I am wanting, but they are a couple hundred versus $59 for this one. The price is the biggest thing that's got me looking at this one. As for actual functionality, they all bolt in where the bumper bolts to the frame. I knew something didn't look quite right, being photoshopped makes sense.

Looked at this one?

$169 shipped....would say isn't a bad deal. Same seller.

Yea I looked at that one, but I am not sold on the design yet. I prefer the regular bull bar like in the pic you posted.

I vote no. Just won't look right if ur not gonna lift it and stuff.

I do plan on a small lift and larger tires in the future, but it won't be anytime in the next year for sure. I've about came to the conclusion to wait, there are better ones out there.

I personally like it better without. However, if you were to get one I like the chrome one better. It just seems to blend in a little better and hey, it's chrome how can you go wrong

I agree. It seems like now n days simplicity is really starting to make it's come back.

After several hours of searching, it looks like a small lift may be closer that I thought. With the rear air bags I can't lift it there so I'm kinda stuck. However, the front sits about 2 inches lower than the rear. I'm gonna end up putting a spacer lift up front, not sure yet but 1-2 inches so it'll be leveled out. I still think I prefer it without the guard, or at least the one I had originally posted about. Thanks!
